Creating work that is 100% biodegradable and ready for composting whenever possible.

No dyeing or otherwise artificially altering the look and feel of flowers and plants.

Foraging responsibly to include more wild and natural elements in arrangements.

Incorporating dried flowers in designs as a way to utilize leftover flowers.

Undoing all mechanics that require use of tape/wire/chicken wire in order to reuse wire/chicken wire, separate tape for landfill, and compost the rest.

Using twine in place of ribbon, unless specifically requested (bridal bouquets, etc.)

Using recycled vases and jars whenever available.

No bleach-based flower food.

Rearranging and delivering leftover event flowers to nursing homes, hospices, and hospitals in the area, whenever feasible.

Nurturing a backyard cutting garden and sourcing from it whenever appropriate and available. Staying in touch with the life cycle of plants and attending to their needs on an going basis. Understanding and appreciating them as living beings beyond their aesthetic value.

Being vocal about sustainable values and practices with clients and industry members.

Cherishing, respecting, and taking care of the flowers I work with. Understanding their carbon footprint and using all plant materials carefully and efficiently. Giving each bloom its breathing room and center stage in the arrangement. Never taking the beauty and delight of flowers for granted.
